OpenConnect/IP Router (OCIR) [OpenConnect Systems Corporation]

OpenConnect/IP Router routes and transfers data packets from one TCP/IPnetwork, over an SNA backbone, to another TCP/IP environment. Datapackets are enveloped and transferred with no effect on the data as itpasses through the SNA environment. OC/IPR saves the cost of purchasingadditional routers and the ongoing monthly expense of leasing longdistance telephones lines. Routing tables are maintained from a centrallocation on an IBM MVS mainframe. A single copy may be all that is neededfor routing management of an entire worldwide SNA network. OC/IPR is anoption to the OpenConnect Server.
